For lines a cable alone will not clear

Hydro jetting for lines that clog again and again

A hose feeds pressurized water through the line with a nozzle that scours the full inside diameter of the pipe, not just a path through the blockage, cutting through grease, scale and root intrusion that a cable pushes past instead of removing.

  • Clears the full pipe diameter, not just a path through it
  • Camera-checked first on a line that has failed before

How is hydro jetting different from a regular drain snake?

A cable or snake breaks through a blockage and pulls debris back, clearing a path roughly the width of the cable head, enough for water to flow again, but often leaving grease, scale or root hairs coating the rest of the pipe wall. Hydro jetting uses a hose and a specialized nozzle to send pressurized water through the line in a pattern that scours the entire inside diameter of the pipe, stripping build-up off the walls rather than just punching through the middle of it.

That is why jetting is usually the answer for a line that keeps clogging on a schedule even after cabling, or for grease build-up in a kitchen line and root intrusion in a sewer lateral, both cling to the pipe wall in a way a cable does not fully address. The full-diameter clean also gives the plumber an honest look at the pipe, which matters for a line with a history of repeat problems.

When jetting makes sense

Signs cabling alone will not be enough

Jetting is not the first step for every clog; these point to when it is. None of these require jetting every time, but together they are the pattern that points to it.

  • The same line clogs repeatedly

A drain or sewer line has been cleared more than once for the same recurring blockage.

  • Grease build-up in a kitchen line

Years of cooking grease have coated the inside of a kitchen drain line.

  • Root intrusion in a sewer lateral

Camera inspection has already shown roots growing into the main line.

  • A line that is slow rather than fully stopped

Flow has been gradually worsening over months instead of stopping all at once.

  • Scale build-up in older pipe

Mineral scale narrows the inside of cast iron and older galvanized supply and drain lines over time, and jetting removes it rather than just pushing through it.

  • A line due for a condition check

Before a bigger repair decision gets made, a jetted and cleared line gives a camera a true look at what is actually there.

Questions

What people ask before booking

Is jetting safe for older pipe?

Pressure is adjusted for the pipe’s condition and material, and a camera inspection beforehand on an older or already-fragile line helps confirm it can handle jetting safely.

Will this get rid of roots for good?

Jetting clears roots from the current blockage effectively, but roots can return over time in a line with a crack or open joint they can re-enter, and that underlying issue may need its own repair.

Do you need a camera inspection first?

For a line with a known history of problems, yes, it confirms jetting is the right approach and shows the pipe’s actual condition beforehand.

How long does hydro jetting take?

Most residential lines are done in a single visit; the exact time depends on the length of the line and how much build-up has to come out.

Will jetting clear tree roots completely?

It clears roots from the current blockage effectively, though a crack or open joint that let roots in the first time can let them back in later, and that structural issue may need its own repair.

Is jetting louder or messier than cabling?

It runs from a truck-mounted or portable unit at the access point, and the working area stays contained the same way a standard drain-cleaning visit does.

Cabling keeps coming back?

Get the line actually cleared, not just cleared again

If the same drain has needed clearing more than once, jetting may be the fix that finally holds. Describe how many times the line has needed clearing and we can talk through whether jetting fits.

No obligation. Tell us how many times this line has clogged and we will tell you what makes sense.
